Fashion has always been one of those things that just draws everyone's attention. "Did you see the latest runway?" "Oh, a Vogue magazine!" "Look at this new fit I just got!" These are all things we've either seen or heard. But, fashion isn't just something that's "word on the street", it's also how you show yourself to the outside world.
For me, finding what sort of fashion I was really into was kind of challenging. During your teenage years, you really find yourself searching for something that will represent you as a person. So, seeing what I really liked wasn't easy, especially without a big budget. And, your preferences change. One year you like snug clothes, and the next, you hate snuggly clothes and only want to wear loose clothes. All of this, happened to me. So, I turned to thrifting. I was very familiar with thrifting, I was introduced to it my whole life. But, with thrifting I could get cheaper stuff, and if I didn't like it, pass it to the next person.
So, after a while I began to see which clothes took my interest more. But that wasn't the end. I started to love patterns that were different, not so normal. Or as many would say, "Granny patterns". They just seemed to catch my eye differently. I fell in love with weird patterns and waist-cinching. I wore them soo much for over 6 months. They were my favorite outfits. But, after a season of change, I just didn't take interest in the tight-fitting, waist-cinching type dresses or outfits anymore. I began to LOVE the mid calf, baggy dresses. They just intrigued me so much. Being Apostolic, it was also hard to find the things that I could fall in love with. Now, I'm obsessed with tulle, anything tulle. I still love the baggy dresses, but I'm discovering more things everyday.
So, let this help you. Go, open your options to anything. Maybe you'll really like that one dress you'd promised you'd hate. Don't give up, go thrifting, go check out Pinterest and see what kinds of clothes you like. Go to consignment stores, and find things you like. Establish a budget-friendly brand that you can keep going back to. But, don't ever, ever give up on your fashion. It's what makes you, you.
